Bangor Youth Hockey, Brewer Youth Hockey, and PVHC have agreed to combine all of their travel hockey programs (Comp A & Comp B) under the administration of the Maine Freeze. Our aim is to bring local hockey closer to USA Hockey's widely-publicized American Development Model (ADM), which has a number of research-based recommendations to grow the game. One of the primary goals of ADM is to increase the number of kids at the recreational level so that low-cost hockey is available to as many kids as possible. ADM also puts greater emphasis on skill development and fun rather than competitiveness, especially at the younger age groups. For example, our highly successful cross-ice Mite program has also been part of ADM. (More information about ADM can be found at http://www.admkids.com).
