The following are committees that BYH has established to keep the business of our organization always moving forward.  If you are interested in working on one of the following committees, please contact one of our board members so you can be included in committee meetings.  You do not have to be on the board to become involved at a committee level.

 

COACHING COMMITTEE.   This committee is responsible for the selection of coaches, communication with coaches, including the status of coaching certification.   

PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT.     This committee's focus is to bring new players into our programs.  

GROW THE GAME.     This committee will work to implement new ideas into the BYH programs which are in line with the ADM Model provided by USA Hockey.

FUNDRAISING AND PROMOTIONS.   This committee oversees the fundraising opportunites provided to our families in order to reduce their hockey bill.  In addition, the commitee oversees promotions being sponsored by BYH and general fundraising for our treasury.    Our primary focus in recent years has been to establish fundraisers that assist our families with the cost of hockey so it is affordable for everyone.    This committee is also responsbile for the BYH apparel that is sold to our families.

SPONSORSHIP.    This committee works to obtain sponsorship for all of the BYH teams, as well as rink sponsors to assist in offsetting the cost of the hockey programs to families and the overhead costs for the organization.

TOURNAMENTS.   The tournament committee is responsible for promoting the annual BYH Friendship Tournaments.   In addition, the committee coordinates the schedule for the tournaments, volunteers for the clock, gamesheet, sales table and the general oversight of the four tounaments that we host.

MAINE FREEZE REPRESENTATIVES.   BYH currently has three representatives that sit on the board of Maine Freeze.   Generally, at least one or two of those people are BYH board members.     As changes occur within the Maine Freeze program,  they will likely need additional people to serve on their board or committees.

Come to a Board meeting ~ they are open to anyone in BYH!  If anyone wishes to include an item(s) on the agenda for any board meeting, it must be given to Cheryl Derrah or Gayle Middleton prior to the Friday before the meeting.

BYH Board Meetings are generally held on the first Sunday of each month at the Sea Dog Restaurant.  Check our website for dates and times of the meetings.
